Springfield Ambulance Corps member and Springfield Township Police Officer Daniel Boyd recently completed the Police Unity Tour, a four-day, 300-mile bike ride from East Hanover, New Jersey to Washington, D.C. This year marks the third consecutive year that Dan has participated in the event. The purpose of the ride is to raise awareness of law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty and to raise funds for the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial and Museum. In 2011, over 1,200 members from across the country made the trip to Washington and 1.5 million dollars was donated to the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial Fund. More information about this event can be found at www.policeunitytour.com. The Corps congratulates Dan for his exceptional achievement and commitment to raising awareness to this worthy cause.
